Japanese Rayon Paper for Print Transfers

Looking for an almost completely translucent paper to use to transfer printed designs to another surface? Then the Japanese Surf Paper is perfect for you. Surf Paper is lightweight yet strong, and melds almost transparently to other surfaces. It is a favorite for chine-colle’ and decoupage artists as a way to layer custom printed designs to their art pieces.

Made from rayon, Surf Paper is a sheer white color with a neutral pH. The front of the sheet has a smooth shiny side and the reverse has a bit more tooth. It is available in multiple sizes including 25" x 36.5", 12" x 12" and 8.5" x 11".

When printing with Surf Paper, whether using digital or more traditional methods like screen printing or block printing, most applications use the shiny side of the paper. When making digital prints, it is recommended to use the "carrier method" to send the paper through the printer as it's extremely lightweight is likely to get jammed in a printer.

With Surf Paper, you can mix both traditional and digital arts in one piece!
