Thai Heavy Embossed Mulberry Paper - PLAID

Native to subtropical regions throughout Asia, the Paper Mulberry plant is the creator of the high-quality fibers used in this Heavyweight Mulberry Paper. Sometimes referred to as "kozo," mulberry is a strong yet soft material that has been used in traditional paper-making for centuries, even millennia. The long fibers offer flexibility and durability that make it an ideal paper source for encaustic art, lampshades, stenciling, painting, and framing.

This heavyweight variety of mulberry paper features a deep woven pattern in soft mulberry, with squares and rectangles ranging from 1/2" x 1/2" to 1" x 1.25" in size. The Thai Heavy Embossed mulberry paper features natural deckled edges on the 22” x 30” size and crisp-cut edges on the 8.5” x 11” size. This handmade kozo paper weights 130 grams per square meter and has an acidic pH.
