Gampi Paper with Pearl - IVORY - 140GSM

Gampi is one Asia's main fiber sources for traditional paper-making and has been used since nearly the 8th century AD. Native to the mountainous regions of Japan and throughout the Philippines, Gampi is a naturally-growing crop that provides strong and flexible fibers for notable resiliency and durability. 

This plant has many unique characteristics that distinguish it from other common paper-making plants such as Mulberry and Mitsumata. The most well-known attribute of this type of washi paper is that it has a natural luster and sheen that provides a stunning surface for ink drawings and printing. Gampi paper is also considered water-resistant or "sized" as the fibers have a naturally low moisture absorption rate. This off-white paper features the traditional texture, strength, and appearance of Gampi paper with pearlized flakes glittering throughout the surface.
